I just came to this post a little late … smile … so I’ll only add that I think an element of intention is present. We live in times where it is no longer sufficient to encourage people to buy a given product.
The US economy and set of cultures and general mix of worldviews is really just a massive structure. It attracts attention and it has opponents.
So some evolution is absolutely “generational.” However, the “pursuit of truth” crosses all boundaries and identity tribes. So … that’s the key. I’m “enjoying” this collapse of some of my long held beliefs in the face of new evidence and voices.
Now I understand that freedom of speech is not a given - it is essential to defend.
So long as we talk together and never indulge in censorship, better ideas will always displace bad ideas.
